The Doğuş Children’s Symphony Orchestra (DÇSO) was established in 2006 by Doğuş Group.
The DÇSO, through its young musicians, aims to bring polyphonic symphony music to children around the world as well as to music lovers of all ages. Under the conductor and general musical director Prof. Rengim Gökmen, the Orchestra draws it musicians, all aged between 11 and 18, from students attending conservatories around Turkey.
To date, DCSO has gathered over 800 young artists and performed 66 concerts, in Turkey and elsewhere, for an audience of close to 89,000 people.
The Orchestra has accompanied many famous musicians from Turkey and abroad. Among these are the world-renown Turkish pianists Fazıl Say and Gülsin Onay, violinist Cihat Aşkın, and Ayhan Uştuk, Aykut Çınar and Şenol Talınlı (aka The Three Tenors), as well as the legendary flamingo guitarist José María Gallardo Del Rey, the Antonio Márquez Dance Company, the famous tenor Nicola Martinucci, and the Russian violinist Alexander Markov. The Orchestra has cooperated with Turkey’s Presidential Symphony Orchestra in various projects that have brought the two orchestras together on the same stage.
In 2013, The Doğuş Children’s Symphony Orchestra was awarded in the category of “Best Corporate Social Responsibility Project” at the Ace Of M.I.C.E. (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Awards. Orchestra also received the "Best Social Responsibility Project in Culture and Arts" Award at the ICSR (International Corporate Social Responsibility) Awards given by JCI (Junior Chamber International) in 2015.
In addition, in 2017, DCSO has won the Best Business Award for Best Corporate Social Responsibility and the Corporate Social Responsibility “Platinum Award” at MarCom Awards.
